Please be aware that if you decide to run a different distance (shorter or longer) than the one you registered for, your time for that distance will not be in the final results. You cannot change your running distance once you’ve registered.
Getting to the start
Please see our route map. The start is at the lake wall right after the Pancharevo / Панчарево sign (if you come from Sofia).
How to get to Pancharevo:
- You can reach the start zone with busses 1, 3 and 4, the bus stop is called “Banyata”. You can use also bus number 6 to German.
- You can get a taxi from center of the Sofia for about 5 to 15 leva
- You can park your car at the stop “Banyata” or German [gehr-man] village (there are more spots in German)
You can come by bike and tie it at the start area.
Start, laps and electronic timekeeping
Trail race start is at 9:00. 10km race start is at 9:15.
The start will be the same for all distances. If you are beginner runner and you do not feel like breaking the world record at that day, please stay at the back of the crowd. Leave the faster runners to start in front – otherwise you will not feel comfortable if lots of people pass you by and they will feel uncomfortable to advance in the crowd which might be even dangerous.
Please be aware that your bib contains an unique chip, which will count your time at the moment you pass through the starting gate until the moment you finish through the same gate after you finish with your laps. Timekeeping is electronic and your time is net which means that it counts your time and not the time from starting horn. A participant starting in front of the crowd does not have a time advantage.
Do not fold you bib and do not remove the RFID chip.
All runners must turn at the checkpoints marked with a flag and our crew being there.
In case you decide to leave the event, please contact the organizers at the tent in the starting zone to sign you off.
Every finisher will get a medal.
The awards fund will be announced prior to the race.
After the start there will be a refreshment point with water, isotonic drinks and fruit. Please do not litter and put the bottles in the bins. Weíll provide also garbage bags along the road.
Caution: When you finish you can get water and fruit but keep away and leave the runners to use the refreshment station with priority!
We can keep your luggage during the event. You will find a sticker with your number in the goody bag. Please stick it to your luggage before handing it to us. Youíll get your luggage when presenting your bib after the race. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR LUGGAGE!!! WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY VALUABLES LOST OT STOLEN.
There is chemical WC 50m from the start in the direction of German village.
There will be a medical team and security guards, provided by Sofia municipality. Please contact the organizers if you do not feel well.
There will be volunteers to guide you on the route, but keep in mind that the lake is accessible for citizens, strollers and kids. Please do no litter – use the bins or take the plastic bottles with you.
